how to remove blood stains from carpets

However hard we may try, we are going to end up with bloodstains to tackle at some point of time or the other. It will probably be cuts and nicks that you will not be capable to notice very easily and before you know it, you are going to end up with little blood stains on your clothing, sofa, carpets or drapes. So how do you get rid of these blood stains from carpet?

There are many types of stains but we are going to discuss how to remove blood stains out of your precious carpet. Here are easy pointers to help you with that.

How To Remove fresh blood

Fresh blood stains come out quicker than dry stains. The easiest thing to do is to use water and a towel. Dip the towel in water, squeeze out the water leaving in some to help you get rid of the stain. Try scrubbing the stain with the towel but be alert not to spread the blood to unaffected areas of the carpet. Perform this again until the stain fades. Every time you dip the towel in water, soak it so that you do not extend the blood on the carpet.

If plain water and towel are not working, use a liquid detergent. The one in your kitchen will do. The liquid should not have any dyes. Such will exactly make the stain worse as it will remove the blood but change it with another stain caused by the dye in the detergent. Now, combine the detergent with some water, ensuring you do not over dilute it. Use the combination on the stain as you bloat it out repeatedly.

The other thing that could support is using hydrogen peroxide. Anyway, make sure you do not use this component on dark colored carpets. The first response you view when you pour it on the stain is foaming. After that, begin rubbing the stain continuously to get it out. Use a wet towel dipped in chill water. When light hits the peroxide, it turns into water that is why you do not have to clean the place after removing the stain.

Now that peroxide can damage your dark colored carpets, use foaming shaving cream instead. Use it on the stain and wait for 5 minutes. Use a damp cloth to remove the stain.

How to Remove dry blood stains

Dry bloodstains are difficult to remove than wet, fresh, bloodstains. This means you will need powerful liquids than hydrogen peroxide, detergent, and shaving cream. Consider mixing unflavored and salt meat tenderizer in equal portions. Use this on the stain and let it stay in for twelve hours. The mixture disintegrates the stain. Vacuum the place than blot the area with a wet cloth.

Meat tenderizer ruins woolen and silk carpets. So, just use salt paste. Rub it on the stain repeatedly. Clean off the salt afterward than vacuum.

The other way to remove dry blood stains is to use a combination of ammonia and hot water. A tablespoon of ammonia and half a cup of water will perform the job. Using a piece of cloth, use the combination of stain to remove it. In case you used bleach on the bloodstain carpet, do not use the ammonia method. If you do this job, you will create a risky gas.

There are lots of other items that can be worked in this process that are amazing. Salt can be spread over the stain before starting to absorb some of the blood. A biological substance can be used. This should be followed by using carpet cleaner with a solution of water and fabric softer. Also, as with clothing, hydrogen peroxide will job well, but will remove the color along with the stain, and should be rejected.
